Early Life & Education

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Russell developed a strong work ethic from an early age. As an Eagle Scout, he learned the importance of leadership, responsibility, and perseverance—values that have remained central throughout his personal and professional life.

He graduated from Clark High School in 1983 before attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he studied Hotel Administration. Growing up in one of the world’s premier tourism destinations gave him an early appreciation for hospitality and entrepreneurship, laying the foundation for his future business ventures.

Career

Russell began his professional career in the hospitality industry, working as a busboy and waiter in the gourmet restaurants at Caesars Palace. Those early experiences taught him the importance of customer service, teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences.

He later spent a decade in the mortgage industry, gaining valuable experience in finance, business operations, and customer relations before pursuing entrepreneurship full time.

Over the years, Russell has owned and operated clothing and fitness stores while continually seeking new business opportunities. His entrepreneurial journey eventually led him to the tourism and adventure industry, where he developed businesses that introduce visitors to the excitement and natural beauty of the Las Vegas region.

His ventures have included Arizona Last Stop, a gas station and tourism property, along with several outdoor recreation and adventure brands, including LasVegasATVs.com, VegasOffRoadRacing.com, BulletsAndBurgers.com, LasVegasWaterSports.com, and LasVegasOutdoorAdventures.com. Together, these businesses offer visitors a variety of experiences ranging from off-road adventures and ATV tours to watersports and unique outdoor excursions.

Russell believes entrepreneurship requires constant adaptation. Rather than relying on past success, he continually looks for new ideas, evaluates market trends, and evolves his businesses to meet changing customer demands. He views setbacks as opportunities to learn and believes that resilience is one of the most valuable qualities a business owner can possess.

Leadership & Business Philosophy

Russell starts each day at 5:00 a.m. with a workout, believing that discipline and consistency create momentum for success both personally and professionally.

His leadership philosophy centers on responsiveness and thoughtful decision-making. He believes every phone call deserves attention and every problem should be addressed quickly. When faced with major challenges, he prefers to take time to evaluate the situation carefully before making important decisions, allowing thoughtful planning to replace emotional reactions.

Russell measures success by sustainable business growth, increasing customer demand, and the financial stability that follows. He credits hard work, perseverance, and the ability to continually innovate as the driving forces behind his entrepreneurial journey.

Life Outside of Work

Outside of business, Russell enjoys an active lifestyle. He is passionate about fitness and begins each morning exercising to stay physically and mentally prepared for the day ahead. He also enjoys snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, indoor and outdoor cycling, and spending time exploring the outdoors.

Despite the demands of entrepreneurship, Russell believes maintaining commitments to family and making time for the people who matter most are essential parts of a fulfilling life.
